Portuguese town paired with Kisii in waste drive

The European Union will give four African cities/towns a Sh1.6 billion aid to manage waste.

The programme, E-Waste Implementation Toolkit (EWIT), aims to maximise waste recycling to protect the environment.

Kisii town has been chosen to represent Kenya in the programme that uses e-waste as a pilot project to build a modern and effective reference model in the management and recycling of waste.

 African-Europe Cooperation will implement the project in eight cities. Kenya (Kisii town) has been paired with Oporto city in Portugal, Zambia with Austria, South Africa with Italy and Ivory Coast with Belgium.
