MONDAY TO FRIDAY COLLECTION WILL REMAIN THE SAME, BUT FRIDAY COLLECTION WILL BE MOVED TO SATURDAY, JULY 5TH. RESIDENTS ARE ALSO REMINDED TO HANDLE FIREWORKS WITH CARE WHEN DISPOSING OF THEM. WAIT FOR THEM TO COOL COMPLETELY BEFORE PLACING THEM IN YOUR BLACK GARBAGE CART AND DOUSING WITH WATER IS ALSO RECOMMENDED.

      Omaha officials announced waste collection changes for the Independence Day holiday.There will be no garbage or recycling collection on July 4, officials said. Collections scheduled for Monday through Thursday will not be impacted.If your collection day is Friday, it is rescheduled to Saturday. Officials said to place material out for collection by 6 a.m.Officials said the regular collection schedule will resume the week of July 7.They also reminded residents to take care when disposing of fireworks. Officials said to wait for fireworks to cool completely before putting them in the black-lid garbage cart. They are not recyclable.
