UPDATED: DSP Investigating Deadly Crash Near Angola Friday Morning

UPDATED – 05/17/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 48-year-old Perry Vance of Millsboro, as the man who died in a fatal crash Friday near Angola.

UPDATED – 1:15pm – Delaware State Police were called just before 6 Friday morning for a fatal crash on Hollymount Road in the Harbeson/Angola area. Police say two commercial flatbed trailers were parked – partially in the northbound shoulder and partially in the grass with orange reflective traffic cones placed alongside the trailers. For reasons still under investigation, police say a Nissan, driven by a 48 year old Millsboro man, left the southbound lane of travel and entered the northbound shoulder striking one of the trailers – the impact pushed the first trailer into the second trailer. The driver of the Nissan ws pronounced dead at the scene. UPDATED – 9:10am – Hollymount Road has reopened.

Delaware State Police are on the scene of a fatal crash on Hollymount Road in the Harbeson/Angola area. Police were called just after 5:45 this morning.  Hollymount Road is closed between Route 24 and Phillips Branch Road and traffic is being detoured while police investigate and clear the scene.
