The New England Patriots announced Thursday they had signed North Stafford graduate Joey Slye.

A kicker, Slye was released Tuesday by the Jacksonville Jaquars. Slye signed a one-year, $1.29 million contract with $25,000 guaranteed in March.

But Jacksonville selected a kicker in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Slye spent the last two seasons kicking for the Washington Commanders.

Slye has played five overall seasons in the NFL. He's also kicked for the Carolina Panthers, the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers.

He has converted 121 of 147 career field goals and 138 of 156 career extra points. In 2023, he was 19 of 24 in field goals and 32 of 35 in extra points.
