Kazakhstan will receive $1.7 billion in income over 10 years of transit of Russian oil to China

Astana. May 3. KazTAG – Over 10 years, until 2034, Kazakhstan will receive $1.7 billion in revenue for the transit of Russian oil to China, said  Sungat Yesimkhanov, Vice Minister of Energy.
“This is a commercial agreement, but it is a serious and long-term transit agreement. We fix the cost (of transit - KazTAG) in foreign currency. Over 10 years, $1.7 billion in income will be received,” Yesimkhanov said at a plenary meeting of the Senate when discussing a bill on cooperation in the field of transporting Russian oil through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to China.
According to him, the agreement is extended until January 1, 2034.
“The volume of transported oil will increase from 7 million to 10 million tons per year. The tariff for oil transportation on the Kazakh section of the Tuymazy-Omsk-Novosibirsk oil pipeline is set at $2.1 million, the tariff for oil transported to the territory of Kazakhstan will be $15 million,” Yesimkhanov added.
