Recent reports have highlighted that several cities in Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, have some of the worst air quality in the world. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention from the government and the public. The main causes of air pollution in Pakistan are industrial emissions, vehicular exhaust, and the burning of solid waste. These pollutants not only have a negative impact on the environment but also on the health of the people living in these cities.
Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to polluted air can lead to respiratory diseases, heart problems, and premature deaths. It is high time that the government takes strict measures to control air pollution in Pakistan. This can be done by enforcing stricter emission standards for industries and vehicles, promoting the use of public transportation, and implementing proper waste-management practices.
