Traveling recycling bin

Pennsylvania Resource Council’s traveling glass recycling bin will be in Deer Lakes Park Aug. 27-Sept. 1. It will be in the Veterans 2 lot on Mahaffey Road near the round-a-bout. Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required). Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site. For more information, visit prc.org/glass.

Farmers market

On Aug. 25, The Pine Community Center is hosting a farmer’s market and food truck event to mark the end of summer featuring live music. The event is scheduled for 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Pine Community Park near the entrance along Pearce Mill Road.

The Pine Creek Community Band will be performing from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Spanish for preschoolers

The Pine Community Center is hosting a new Spanish language learning program for children ages 3 to 5 starting on Sept. 28. Kids will be taught how to count and learn phrases and greetings. The cost for the eight-week program, which runs from 10:30 to 11 a.m., is $115 for PCC members and $125 for nonmembers.

Story time yoga

Parents with children between the ages of 3 and 5 are invited to participate in a fun introduction to yoga. Participants will read through a story and do basic yoga moves before moving onto a craft project. The class kicks off on Sept. 13 and will run from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The cost per class is $6 for PCC members and $9 for nonmembers.

Women’s Business Network

Women’s Business Network members can take advantage of networking with other business women throughout the region, ongoing professional education and leadership opportunities. All professional women are invited to visit a local meeting as a guest. Find out more at wbninc.com.
