We have gone from one extreme to the other in the last few days.

After a sustained period of hot weather, the sunshine has been replaced by predictable heavy rainfall as the temperature holds up.

Flash flood warnings are still in place for some areas, particularly Scotland with the south and much of England set to be drier.

Morning

Cloud and rain over Scotland moving into Northern Ireland and northern England, turning more showery.

Rain and strong winds arriving in the southwest later in the day

Afternoon

Much of the midlands and Wales will see dark clouds and rain in the afternoon. Further south and in London, the sunshine will appear with temperatures of around 17c. Possible showers as we head into the evening.

Evening

Isolated rain will fall into the evening but most of the nation is in for a dry night. The easy will finish the day with late Summer sun after a clearing of the skies.
